Fail when using UI update button:
You will got a fail message when using update button on UI. It is normal when we manage the defender update setting by Group policy.
You can using following methods to update security intelligence of defender manually
1.Using powershell command:
1. Open command prompt as administrator and change directory to C:\Program Files\Windows Defender
2. Run “MpCmdRun.exe -removedefinitions -dynamicsignatures” (not necessary but recommended)
3. Run “MpCmdRun.exe -SignatureUpdate”
2.Download update file:
Download from Microsoft website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/defenderupdates
Update other components: (Only update when you have specific issue)
1. Update Platform: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4052623
Choose the newlest version to download.
2.Update Sense Module
Udpate with Windows security update.
